How to improve your Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) gameplay?
A simple question but too general that you can simply be overwhelmed to read through.
-TLDR-
If you master the basics of the game, focus on the early, mid and late game equipment build. MLBBTools.com has the build tools to help you assemble each phase build. Craft it based on;
‣ The right equipment to amplify your hero's strength or cover their weaknesses.
‣ Consider the enemy lineup.
‣ Prioritize buying equipment based on your circumstances.
‣ Better to have half builds in the early match and decide on the Core equipment to complete by priority at each phase.
To keep it simple and sweet, most of you readers should have some skill already in the game. If not look into these topic;
-
○ Positioning.
- ○ Map Awareness.
- ○ Your hero
passive & skills.
- ○ Common skill
combinations.
- ○ Ultimate skill
Combinations.
- ○ Enemy hero
passive & skills.
- ○ Recommended
hero builds.
- ○ Roles, rotations and routes behaviors..
If you have passed that stage then the significant difference you may have against higher level or pro enemies is your hero builds.
Yes, hero build.
Why? Since good players already have a mental image on how their gameplay is & how they are going through each face-off.
With that, you then need to know how to enforce your play-style. And the only solution to that is with the right equipment at the right time.
Best build, 1-hit build, Pro build, etc is readily available in MLBBTools/Heroes and the game respectively. So what is the big deal on Hero Build?
Answer is the timing and equipment they have at different phases of the game.
╚════════════《✧》════════════╝
So we will concentrate on this;
- The timing : Match Loading screen / Draft Screen
- The timing : Match Loading screen / Draft Screen
-
- Consider Enemy Lineup. Take note of their damage type, especially the one you’re going to face.
- For example Gold lane will most likely be against a MM & Roamer. If the Kill Pressure is too high opt for a survival equipment like Athena’s Shields or an Armor.
-
-
- Exp Laner can target attack equipment if their confidence in getting in and out of the scuffle during laning phase.
-
Mid, often mage has higher damage output in earlier phase. Which you need to decide whether mobility or enhance CC like Ice Queen Wand to keep all lane in check or dominate earlier.
- Assassin / Jungler with basic boots and Fury Hammer can deal massive damage even before level 4. If you are visited often by them take note of the damage type; Magic damage can be countered by Silence Robe or Physical damage with Steel Legplates. Both can later be upgraded to Athena’s Shields, Dominance Ice or Blade Armor
- The timing :
Early Match;
- Emphasize
each Hero strength, mobility or cover your weakness.
- Simple combo of Boots and Attack Equipment (Fury Hammer or Swift Crossbow) can give the much needed advantage earlier on.
- Emphasize
each Hero strength, mobility or cover your weakness.
Against magic, fortified with Magic Blade for Attack & Defense (With Rose Gold Meteor shields effect)
-
-
Or facing physical damage, Dreadnaught Armor can defend against skill based attack whereas Steel Legplates for higher but cheaper defense. These are base equipment for Antique Cuirass and (Dominance Ice or Blade Armor) respectively
-
- The timing :
Mid Match;
- Buy
equipment according to the game situation
- Read the overall game, understand which enemy hero is unchecked and the general favor of the match.
- If it's in your favor, focus on snowballing. Increase your hero effectiveness by completing a Core items and level 2 equipments to fortify your play style. Equipments like Blade Of Despair for MM, Endless Battle for Roamer & Fighter can help greatly snowballing your victory.
- However if
you are in the defensive, opt for Dominance Ice or Athena’s
Shield as a complete core item and cheap but effective equipment
like Bloodlust Axe for sustain hero like Yu Zhong or Hilda, Ogre
Tomahawk for added movement speed and could also built up to
Endless Battle. Legion Sword and Vampire Mallet for MM which are
also needed for Hass’s Claw.
- Capitalize on
the effect of cheaper equipment rather than put effort on having
few complete equipment.
- Buy
equipment according to the game situation
- The timing :
Late Match;
- Have at
least 1 teamfight equipment to support
- Equipment
like Sea Halberd (MM) or Necklace of Durance (Mage) to slow enemy HP
regeneration, Shields effect and lifesteal halt their
effectiveness. Take note that this take effect on hitting the
enemy different from Dominance Ice that took effect to all in its
presence..
- Defense
equipment Dominance Ice shared the same debuff but irreplaceable
as it slows down enemy attack greatly. Having one on the team
would slows attack of all the nearby enemy in teamfight
- MM emblem
Weakness Finder is the best at slowing down single enemy movement
but Mage’s Ice Queen Wand is also great at slowing down multiple
enemies movement speed, slapping them with more magic damage and
Spell Vamp for survivability.
- Equipment
like Sea Halberd (MM) or Necklace of Durance (Mage) to slow enemy HP
regeneration, Shields effect and lifesteal halt their
effectiveness. Take note that this take effect on hitting the

the Build your envision your hero to be.
- Try to
complete your core equipments.

complete your core equipments.
- Put
emphasis on counter items
- Demon Hunter
Sword to fight Tank which at this stage is very tough.
- Defense
Equipment like (Twilight Armor/Antique Cuirass) & Blade Armor
shine well at this stage against Physical damage in teamfight.
Athena’s shield generally enough if Enemy only have 1 mage. Else
Tank can fortified further with Radiant Armor.
- For other
than Tank, Counter equipments is nice to have but don't let it
interfere with your core build if you have snowballed the game.
Only consider if you are being pick-off by enemy frequently.
- Demon Hunter
Sword to fight Tank which at this stage is very tough.
- Have at
least 1 teamfight equipment to support
- The timing :
Extension Time;
- Extended
time is a worst variable as it can go either way.
- A wipeout or
death can immediately lead to defeat. But equipment like
Immortality can be a trap if you do not have the skills to follow
up with a kill or retreat.
- This phase is
experimental stage look at the enemy closely, their equipments and
their skills. Thinks how to counter first and kill them second as
chances are everyone has max level and simple equipment like Wind
of Nature and Winter Truncheon can make a huge impact. As the
first to waste their combo or ultimate would likely be defeated.
- If possible
trap, time and pick your fight.
- Pay attention
to your money and chances are you will have excess. Boots might
not be needed for MM and Assassin. Mage can focus for Burst Attack
prioritizing Fleeting Time & (Glowing Wand/Divine Glaive). For
Cooldown and specialize damage respectively.
